What we believe

We Believe in Relationship

Relationship is the starting point for us. Any generalized statement of belief must first begin with understanding that we are all created in the image and likeness of God, and that we are each capable, even called, into our own unique Relationship with the Divine.

We believe that everyone’s Relationship is equal to everyone else’s. No one has any more specialness than anyone else. OFJ believes that everyone is heard. So, what is God to us? God is the Source of all that is. God as One is a Principle of Pure Awareness or Consciousness and is The Absolute Reality.

This Absolute Reality manifests Itself as three unique persons, Father/Mother, Son/Daughter, and Holy Spirit. We are also expressions of this Absolute Reality and we exist as Spirit, Mind, and Body issuing forth from Absolute Reality and existing as Soul.

We believe in One God whose existence has no beginning and no end, eternally manifesting as Father/Mother, Son/Daughter, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the “Son” aspect of Divine Reality is, for us, the Christ, perfectly incarnated as Jeshua ben Joseph (Jesus), and we believe that we are all this very Christ in potential.

We believe we are created as a Divine Spark or Essence, and we can magnify this Divine Spark in our lives and realize our Divine potential through making ourselves available to Divine Grace. We do this through realization of who we truly are and we live from that Inner Knowledge.

What We Affirm

We affirm God as Mind, Infinite Being, Spirit, Ultimate Reality, transcendent yet imminent, impersonal yet Personal.

We affirm the freedom of all persons as to beliefs, and we honor the diversity of humanity by being open and affirming all persons, affirming the dignity of human beings as founded on the presence of God within them, and, therefore, the principle of democracy.

We affirm that we are all spiritual beings, dwelling in a spiritual universe that is governed by spiritual law, and that, in alignment with spiritual law, we can heal, prosper, and harmonize.

We affirm that our mental states are carried forward into manifestation and become our experience in daily living.

We affirm the manifestation of the kingdom of heaven here and now.

We affirm expression of the highest spiritual principle in loving one another unconditionally, promoting the highest good for all, teaching and healing one another, ministering to one another, and living together in peace, and in accordance with the teachings of Jesus and other enlightened teachers.

We affirm our evolving awareness of the nature of reality and our willingness to refine our beliefs accordingly.

We affirm the Supreme Goodness of God, acknowledge the presence of God in all things, including humanity.

We believe that when Jesus spoke in Luke 17:21, he literally affirmed, “the Kingdom of God is within you.”

We affirm that God is all, both invisible and visible; One Presence, One Mind, One Power is all; and that this One that is All is perfect life, perfect love, and perfect substance. I am an individualized expression of God, and I am ever one with this perfect life, perfect love, and perfect substance.

We affirm that God, the Good, is Supreme, Universal, and Everlasting.

OFJ strives to experience this Kingdom of God daily through meditations, spiritual practices, and through a constant realization of the perfect Divinity of God manifest in all humanity. We do not need a church or place of worship to do this, but find the company of friends, “where two or more are gathered,” where we recognize each other as fellow creations of the Divine and Loving God and share our love with everyone.
